Week of the Young Child
April 10th through the 16th is Week of the Young Child - an annual event sponsored by the NAEYC (National Assoc. for the Education of Young Children). Now in it's 40th year, the celebration's purpose is to focus public attention of the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs. This year's theme is Early Years are Learning Years. As usual, The Alliance will be collecting books for Next Door Foundation in Milwaukee for their Books for Kids project. Please bring in any new or gently used books for young children you've collected to our next get together on Saturday, April 30th from 10:30-12:30 in the Community Room at the North Shore Library. Marcia Hall of Strong Roots Family Coaching will be presenting a workshop on Teaching Children Respect. Don't miss it!
